There was no way we could revive you.
You died like in the dramas, where the person spouted blood before flat-lining.
I'd originally planned to say go and say goodbye.
To personally drive you for the last time and say goodbye.
To personally drive you for the last time and say goodbye.
But you left me even before I could say my last farewell.
Tomorrow, I won't be able to go and see you off because of work,
so I can only say my final words to you here.
Thank you for the past 10 years.
And farewell.
You were my first love, and you'd probably be my last.
I'm not even sure if I'd ever get another, after those few months of fearful, heart-stopping adventures we had.
All the times I had to call a tow-truck,
all the times I prayed and begged for you to NOT stall, so I could arrive at work safely.
All the times I managed to arrive in school,
but had to call a tow-truck to drag you back (lol)
You were the first car I ever drove,
but you weren't just a car.
You were a friend,
a confidante,
my partner-in-crime as we sped through the streets of SG in the middle of the night.
but you weren't just a car.
You were a friend,
a confidante,
my partner-in-crime as we sped through the streets of SG in the middle of the night.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories,
thank you for protecting the family, and the guitar, at the expense of your trunk.
Thank you for delivering me safely to church and work and back,
despite the long distance.
Thank you for being my partner-in-crime back in those years when I first got my license,
when I'd steal you out for a drive in the middle of the night,
where we'd speed through the empty roads, with the wind in my hair, as I ran from my demons.
Thank you for being my unwilling partner as I drove the objects of my affection home.
You must've suffered through all my embarrassingly cringey love-struck moments,
and all that stupid conversations and even sillier love-struck behavior.
Thank you for being my silent comforter,
as I shed tears of heartache and heartbreak,
driving through teary, foggy eyes,
where we'd go somewhere quiet,
just the 2 of us,
staring at the stars in the sky,
questioning the meaning of life,
questioning the meaning of love.
I said I'd never love again,
but here I am,
with my heart torn into pieces,
because the one who stole it was you.
And I never realized till the day we finalized the papers to deregister you so we could send you to the scrapyard.
You were with me through it all.
The good, the bad, the ugly.
And you never left.
You couldn't leave.
Even after the many scratches I gave you,
the major accident I had,
the overheating of your engine,
you still did your best to get me to my destination.
Without fail,
without complaints (Ok, fine. The number of times you stalled on me nearing the end of your time was probably all the complaints you had about me lol)

The moments I had you as mine was short,
a mere month or 2,
but those days of being your unofficial owner brought immense joy in my life.
S said his Z4 is his love.
And just as his Z4 is the object of his love and affection,
you are mine.
And truth be told,
if not for the 10-year limit (or mileage limit), I'd definitely have pulled out all my money to give you an overhaul just so we could be together for the next 10 years.
but screw the law for breaking us apart.
2007-2017.
With all my love.
